In 1991, he captured the PIAA State Championship in the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, 8 inches, becoming the first Warren Area High School athlete to win a state track and field gold medal. He also finished seventh in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles at the state championships.
Seth continues to hold three Warren Area High School track and field records in the high jump, triple jump, and 300-meter intermediate hurdles. Following graduation, he attended Ohio University on an athletic scholarship, where he continued to excel as a member of the Bobcats’ track and field team. He established two school records, including an impressive indoor high jump of 7 feet, 1¼ inches and a pentathlon record. Meyers’ accomplishments at both the high school and collegiate levels established him as one of Warren’s most accomplished track and field athletes.
