In 1925-27 Warren High Schools’ Monte Scott was a track and field dynamo. Monte ran the 100 yard dash in ten seconds flat, a record still intact today. And, he anchored the relay teams as well. As Warrens’ top point earner, he also won the discus, shot put, and javelin events. A two-time District Champion in the 100 Yd. Dash and once in the Discus, Monte played football two years for Washington & Jefferson (Nationally Ranked), and one year for Edinboro College. After college, Monte continued in sports with coaching, officiating and umpiring fast pitch softball until age eighty-two.
