The Betts Foundation was previously honored by the Warren County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1993. Through numerous acts of generosity, the Foundation has improved the way of life for thousands of Warren County citizens. The Betts Park Complex encompasses and provides for the sports of Baseball, Softball, Tennis, and Hiking. It has an Exercise Trail, a Bocce Park, many Pavillions for gatherings, restroom facilities, a boat launch and much much more... The entire park is well groomed and is very appealing.
The central figure in creating this facility was Clifford R. Betts, the industrialist who built Betts Machine Shop, an area leader in manufacturing. Mr. Betts had been a life-long supporter of sports and programs for youth and adults. He had a vision of creating a facility which would benefit the community for the present, and for generations to come. In 1980, Warrens' Mayor declared that the official name of the park, previously known as Warren Airport, be named 'The Clifford R. Betts Park.' His commitment to building this facility is presently on-going as the Betts family has continued with his dream. We of Warren are the benefactors of Mr. Betts dream and we are all appreciative. It is for these reasons that the Hall recognizes the great works of Mr. Clifford R. Betts.
