Lucille Leathers organized the first formal athletic programs offered for girls in Warren County. As the Physical Education Instructor at Eisenhower High School, Coach Leathers organized sports programs to include Track & Field, Softball, Volleyball, Basketball, and Bowling. She ran the leagues and coached the sports for twenty-five years. Her leagues and programs were adopted by all the schools in the district and sports were regularly offered for girls. Lucille Leathers is a true pioneer of Girls’ Sports in Warren County.
